Content is exactly like that. You can submit your articles to directories. You may get some results. The more you submit, the more you get results. However, you can do much more beyond that.

Republishing your article on your site and blog is one idea. If you insert AdSense -- or any ad networks -- ads into the page, you can immediately earn money from every click originated from your web site. I know some people take AdSense very lightly nowadays. Don't be. You can earn a few hundreds or thousands of dollars per month just form this income stream, even though you site is moderately popular. That's the truth. I said it based on my experience.

Big sites are earning six figure per month from AdSense. Just that nowadays you can't put up crap pages and expect to earn millions.

You can also offer related affiliate programs in the body of the content. With the variety of affiliate programs, the sky is the limit to how and what you can offer to the site visitors.

Articles are also excellent content for e-newsletter. It helps you build relationship with your subscribers. This may not be a direct monetization strategy, but over the long haul those relationships will become your most important assets in your business.

Getting articles in front of as many people as possible also opens the door to many opportunities. People are getting book deals, speaking engagements and businesses every day from something they wrote about in the past.

You can use articles for your own advantage too. Just because it was posted in one place doesn't mean it can't be reused in others. Chances are, there are more people who haven't seen or read your articles. So keep publishing and promoting!
